Join us for our shelter open houses and our monthly volunteer orientation sessions:

  • 1st Saturday: Volunteer Orientation, 9:00-10:30 AM
  • 2nd Sunday: Shelter Open House, 3:00-5:00 PM
  • 3rd Monday: Shelter Open House, 4:30-6:00 PM

All are welcome at our Open House events–now held twice a month–where we help tidy the shelter and then socialize and exercise our shelter animals. Families just need to remember their little ones cannot go in play yards with high-energy dogs. And that everyone needs to wear the right clothing and closed-toe shoes.

Volunteer Orientation is for the committed and compassionate folks who want to become Senior Volunteers and come help the shelter on the own time (all hours access). There are 4 steps to becoming a Senior Volunteer: (1) fill out the Volunteer Application, (2) attend Orientation, (3) get fingerprinted at HPD, and (4) complete 6 hours of supervised training. After you’ve finished these 4 steps, then you maintain your Senior Volunteer status by completing 4 hours of volunteer work a month.

Thank you for caring for our shelter animals. We can only do this with your help. We can’t wait to see you at the shelter!
