The power of crowd-funding and a compelling cat.

In January 2018 we took in 5 cats: a mom with a broken leg and her four 10-month old kittens. The vet says Mama Helga’s leg has been broken for a while and she will probably need amputation, which will cost $500. The Friends group wanted to sponsor her surgery, and reached out to the community to raise the money needed to take away her pain. We set up a GoFundMe campaign and asked for donations online. Here’s what happened:

20 individual donations brought us to our goal of $500 in a single day.

This Animal Emergency Medical Fund is used for the humane treatment & care of the shelter animals in Holbrook Arizona. We rely solely on donations to support the health of these animals, including emergency surgeries and spay/neuter treatments.
